Environmental protection and sustainable development
The company’s senior management has adopted long-term objectives reflecting not only the changing needs and expectations of stakeholders, including the general public, clients and investors, but also the increasingly acute awareness of the need to protect the environment. These objectives and the commitment to continuous improvement led the company to set its sights in 2020 on acquiring the EMAS certificate. Another long-term goal relevant to this area is to continually raise awareness among employees of the need for, and commitment to, environmental protection, which underpins the EMAS scheme.
The EMAS implementation included the company’s Environmental declaration of adherence to Regulation (EC) No. 1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the voluntary participation by organisations in a Community eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS). The declaration also presents the company’s actions, goals and objectives in the area of environmental protection.
SMS a.s. was registered in the Eco-management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) on 23 March 2021.
